St Patrick's Youth Club

St Patrick's Youth Club

St. Patrick’s Youth Club was formed in August 2010 initially aimed at Primary 6 and 7 pupils of St. Patrick’s Primary School, Dumbarton. Meetings take place in the Church Hall of St. Patrick’s Dumbarton every Tuesday from 6.30 pm till 8 pm. The formation of this Youth Club was intended to provide a place in order to encourage the children to participate in activities, meet their friends after school, make new friends and get involved in new activities, thus developing their personal and social skills and ultimately to give them a cohesive purpose and to ’keep them off the streets and out of trouble’.

After our first year when the Primary 7 pupils moved up to S1, we decided to set up another group so that the children in S1 were still encouraged and welcomed to continue membership of the Youth Club. Currently we have two groups who attend on Tuesdays. The first group meets at 6.30 pm till 8.00 pm.

Youth Club - 8.00 pm to 9.30 pm for children from 10+ and S1 onwards

Following on from the slight changes to the Youth Club, the 8.00 -9.30pm Youth Club have included group sharing to build a better understanding of friendships, doing Community and Charity Work and learning new things and lots more. We hope to be able to work together with Primary schools Mini Vinnies and Young SSVP or anyone who are interested in giving back to the Community. Our First Charity event was bag packing to raise fund for Ronald McDonald House and it was a great success and the children had an opportunity to visit the place. The children also get to learn basic First Aid. If anyone are interested to join the Youth Club, please contact stpatsyouthg1@btconnect.com or just drop in to the church hall on Tuesdays from 8.00 pm - 9.30 pm.
