St Patrick

Saint Patrick

St Patrick whom many consider to have been born near Dumbarton in the 5th Century was kidnapped and taken to Ireland from where he later escaped only to return as a missionary. He was the most influential of the Christian missionaries and though he travelled over all of Ireland his main base was in the north of the country near Armagh. He is the patron saint of Ireland. His most famous written works are his Confession and his letter to Coroticus.
