The Month of September

“I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.” Psalms 13:6

September

Month of September

September is a time of change. The seasons turn to shorter days and lower temperatures. Autumn signals the approach of winter but struggles to hang onto something better with its memories of summer. Yet all is not dark in this season, we are also blessed with beautiful colours that remind us there is goodness to be found even in the midst of dying. So our season is lit up with feasts such as The Birthday of Our Blessed Virgin Mother, and St Ninian, St Matthew, the Apostle and Evangelist, The Archangels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, and perhaps best of all, the Exaltation of the Cross; all lights for us in the encroaching darkness to remind us that our faith is a message of hope. No matter what comes our way, we have the resurrection to look forward to. Even when death and darkness seem to have the ascendancy, life will always return.
